About the event
This summer, Tralee Bay Swimming Club will be hosting the first Navigator Challenge Swim - a challenging course around the waters in Fenit, just 10 km from Tralee.
The event will take place on Sunday August 18th at approx. 10am, subject to weather and tidal conditions, and will be in aid of Children's Health Ireland, Ronald McDonald House and the RNLI, who celebrate 30 years in Fenit this summer.
The Challenge is named after St Brendan the Navigator, whose iconic statue stands guard in Tralee Bay . You will be accompanied by RIBs and kayaks, but you can elect to bring your own kayaker if you prefer. The RNLI will also be on hand in the morning.
The course is intended to challenge open water sea swimmers who have trained for and feel comfortable taking on a 3km swim in tidal waters and who can demonstrate recent experience of an organised swim of at least 1.5km (indoor times accepted)
