Apologies for the delay with this swim report. The report was initially drafted on paper immediately after the swim last week but lo and behold didn't the dog eat it! A ferocious battled ensued that lasted four days and four nights as the author desperately tried to retrieve the report from Rover's jaws. A soggy slimy drooly mess was eventually coughed up by Rover and pieced together for this report.
Big thank you to all the members for turning up at short notice for the rescheduled Swim #2. It was a beautiful evening for swimming with many of the swimmers upping the distance to 1KM. The new to open water group swam 200m and many members remained on afterwards for the prizes (8 in total).
Big thank you also to Waterworld Watersports for sponsoring the swim. Waterworld Watersports is situated in Upper Rock Street, Tralee. They stock a fantastic range from speciality wetsuits, kids wetsuits, bodyboards, surf boards (epoxy and foamies), surf accessories, ponchos and clothing. Aileen is always so helpful, delivering great customer service as well as honest and practical advice.
Also thank you to our volunteers, kayakers and angel swimmers for keeping everyone safe, Eoin Edwards and Charlie O Grady from Wild Water Adventures on the safety rib and John Edwards himself who stepped into a kayak position for a few minutes during the race.
Timing...we got there!
Unlike the tardiness of this swim report we got the race timing right last week and everyone was checked in and out of the water. Everyone also swam the correct route which helps matters! It does demonstrate that listening to the safety briefing is helpful, so we encourage everyone to arrive 45 minutes before each race so we can process check-ins and make sure everyone hears the safety briefing.

The Midsummer Disco and BBQ is on Saturday July 16th in the Sailing Club. Tickets will be €10 and will go on sale soon.
